In recent years we’ve seen companies exploiting more and more of our personal data and private information. Giants like Google and Facebook store so many data points about our personal lives, search histories, hobbies, and interests that the data files they keep on every single person are several Gigabytes each (equal to millions of Word documents).
When we give up the right to our data (usually without realising it), we’re allowing our personal information and content to be used in any way tech companies see fit, in some cases even selling it on to third parties. We’re not able to control how it’s collected or what happens to it. And if it’s sold we don’t see any of the profits made from it.
At Amasa, we firmly believe that this data should remain in the ownership and control of individuals. And if people are okay with the monetisation of their personal data, they should reap the rewards of that monetisation.
Advertisers, brands and market intelligence and analytics companies are also disadvantaged by the current data management landscape. They’re forced to pay for expensive, low quality data that’s been collected without user consent. They’re also subject to the realities of fragmented data, data silos, and having to work through intermediaries that have little to no connection to the people they’ve harvested the data from.
Up to now, these companies have had little choice. There have been few-to-zero alternative methods of advertising to potential customers. But this situation is now changing…
The new data paradigm
The good news is that decentralised platforms that underpin the Web 3.0 paradigm shift are disrupting existing data management practices.
Blockchain enabled, Web 3.0 technologies allow for greater transparency over data and far more equitable distribution of benefits to the people that should actually control access to their own private information. They also allow people to choose whether they’d like to use their data to create value.
Introducing Swash
Swash offers a new generation of data solutions via incentivisation streams governed by the ethos of Web 3.0. It enables internet users, developers and businesses to rebalance the data economy in a user-centred and privacy-preserving way. It also encourages the creation of new possibilities for data ownership and value creation.
The Swash ecosystem aims to bring about a better, fairer data economy by redefining how data is collected and valued, and rebalancing the power dynamic between online platforms and the people they serve.
By partnering with Swash, Amasa is providing people with easier access to the new data economy. Due to the shared ethos of pursuing a Web 3.0 world that is decentralised, more equitable, and more valuable for participants, the partnership is a natural extension of the visions of the two projects.
The key principles powering Swash are:
- Incentivising users to get paid for the value of their data
- Improving access to high-quality data for businesses and data scientists
- Encouraging developers to develop a new generation of data solutions, and
- Working alongside ecosystem partners to allow for interoperability and mass adoption at scale towards a wider vision for the future of data.
Swash is achieving this through the creation of Data Union structures that reward people for the value of their data. Swash is continuing to expand on a range of First Wave Solutions that already includes a working product that more than 60 thousand people are already using — the Swash browser application. This application enables individuals to practice their data rights while celebrating their role as essential value providers in the ecosystem.
For developers, Swash helps them innovate in creating the next generation of data solutions. And for businesses, Swash facilitates access to high quality data without the need to go through intermediaries.
Swash X Amasa
By partnering with Swash, Amasa is providing people with easier access to the new data economy. Due to the shared ethos of pursuing a Web 3.0 world that is decentralised, more equitable, and more valuable for participants, the partnership is a natural extension of the visions of the two projects.
Amasa is excited to be working with Swash and other Web 3.0 projects providing a host of new micro income stream possibilities.
About Swash
Swash is an ecosystem of tools and services that enable people, businesses, and developers to unlock the latent value of data by pooling, securely sharing, and monetising its value.
People are incentivised to share their data so that they can earn while retaining their privacy. Businesses can access high-quality, zero-party data in a sustainable and compliant way. Developers can simply set up and build systems within a collaborative development framework.
Swash is reimagining data ownership, enabling all actors of the data economy to earn, access, build and collaborate in a liquid digital ecosystem for data.

About Amasa
Amasa’s mission is to empower anyone, anywhere in the world to capture and capitalise on the wealth building potential of micro income streams. We’re driving adoption of Web 3.0 platforms that reward participants for their gaming, time, energy, attention, content, data and interactions.
We’re doing that by building the world’s first micro income stream investment app. The Amasa app will make micro income streams easy to capture, combine and access as a stabilised income, then amplify through user-selected DeFi investment options.
Combine. Stabilise. Amplify. All in the background of everyday life.
